30 HOUR DEC ELIGIBILITY: 2 – FOREST, 3A – ORNAMENTAL TURF, & 24-25 PRIVATE

Description

This course will allow a student who is NOT licensed to sit for the New York State DEC Core exam and either the commercial category 2- Forest Pest Control exam, 3A – Ornamental & Turf exam or  the private categories 24: Greenhouse & Florist exam and 25: Nursery, Ornamentals & Turf exam to become a licensed Technician. This course is NOT designed to allow licensed technicians or applicators to add a category to their license. If you have any questions, please call us at 845-481-4048.

NOTE: As per the NYSDEC, the student MUST complete this course within 6 MONTHS of the day they start the course. This course is in a Distance Learning format and approved by the NYSDEC as an Eligibility Course required to sit for the Pesticide Technician’s examination. Quizzes are given at the end of each section to enhance the student’s learning. This course is narrated and self-paced, with high quality images of insect and animal species as well as equipment.

PLEASE NOTE: As per NYS law, you can only spend a maximum of 7.5 hours in this course per day. You must have your original certificate to take the NYSDEC exam. Certificates will be emailed to students within 1-2 business days of us receiving your completion email.

Before sitting for the NYS DEC Technician exam, you will need a Core Manual and a Category Manual. These can only be purchased through Cornell Cooperative Extension by calling (844) 688-7620 or visiting their website https://store.cornell.edu/books/cornell-cooperative-ext-pmep-manuals.
