This course is designed to allow commercial license applicators in Rhode Island to earn 4 Credit Hours in Categories 1A: AGRICULTURAL PEST CONTROL-PLANT and 10: DEMONSTRATION AND RESEARCH. This course has been designed in a Distance Learning format and is approved by the State of Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management as a recertification course.

This course covers the following materials: Concepts in Weed Control, Herbicide Formulations, Soil applied Herbicides, Pesticide Interaction in Crops and Weeds, Common Weeds, Biotic vs Abiotic, The Disease Pyramid, Organic Field Crop Production, Crop Rotation, Pesticide Drift, Protecting Water, and Heat Stress.

NOTE: As per the Rhode Island DEM, you cannot repeat a Distance Learning course in a recertification cycle. If you are not sure if you have taken this course, please call PESTED and we will check your account history. It is an online course. True/False quizzes are given at the end of each section to enhance the student’s learning. This course is narrated and self-paced.

Students will be instructed to send us a completion e-mail after completing their course. The instructions on how to send that e-mail will be on the final slide of the course. PESTED will e-mail the student their course certificate after receiving their completion e-mail. If we do not receive that completion e-mail, your course certificate will not be e-mailed to you.
