This course is designed to assist California Pest Professionals to sit for and pass their state initial licensing exams to add Category D to their Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) or Qualified Applicator License (QAL). This online course covers material related to PLANT AGRICULTURE PEST CONTROL. It is self-paced, and narrated with high quality images of insects, animal species, and equipment. It is approximately 12 hours long, and is a self-paced tool to prepare students for their California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) exam.
This is NOT an eligibility course, continuing education course, exam, or recertification program. You will not receive any credits (CEUs) for this course. Quizzes are given to enhance the student’s learning and be retaken at anytime for review.

- Integrated Pest Management, Pest Identification Biology and Management, Pesticide Use, Safe Use of Pesticides, Effective Use of Pesticides, Pesticide Applications, Protecting Humans and the Environment from Exposure, Common Weeds, Dandelions, Thistles, and Other Similar Weed Species, Natural Enemies and Biological Pest Control, Application Equipment and Calibration, Hazards of Pesticide Applications, Managing Landscape Pests, Mixing Pesticides Safely and Preventing Off-Site Movement, and the Ecological Principles in Pest Management.

Once you have completed this course and are ready to take your QAC/QAL exam you must reach out to the California DPR to schedule your DPR Licensing Exam. Exam applications are available on the DPR’s Website here. You may also schedule an exam by calling the DPR Licensing department at 916-445-4038. Please keep in mind that you must file your application with DPR at least 30 days prior to the testing date you’d like to apply for.
